Both stick with AMG’s familiar 3.0-litre mild-hybrid turbocharged inline-six, delivering 443bhp and 413lb-ft (560Nm) of torque – briefly climbing to 443lb-ft (600Nm) thanks to an overboost function. Power is distributed to all four wheels through AMG’s 9-speed TCT transmission and the fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.
While there’s no change to output figures, the Limited Edition models are fitted with the AMG Driver’s Package as standard, bumping the electronically limited top speed to 168mph. More appealing to keen drivers, however, is the inclusion of AMG’s Dynamic Plus Package. This adds active engine mounts and a reshaped AMG Performance steering wheel, along with grey-painted brake callipers at both ends.

A notable technical upgrade over the regular CLE 53s, the active engine mounts can adjust stiffness on the fly – softening for comfort-oriented cruising, or firming up in sportier settings to sharpen the car’s responsiveness.
Visually, the Coupé and Cabriolet take different routes. The Coupé is dressed in matte graphite grey with yellow accents, sitting on unique 20-inch forged wheels with yellow rim detailing. AMG’s Night Packages I and II are also included, along with the AMG Styling Pack, which brings gloss black trim pieces, dark chrome badges, and a more aggressive front apron complete with aerodynamic flourishes, plus an enhanced rear diffuser.
The Cabriolet leans into a subtler aesthetic. It wears matte spectral blue with a blend of black and blue exterior details. Carbon-fibre elements – courtesy of AMG’s Exterior Carbon Packages – replace the gloss black trim, covering parts like the spoiler lip, mirror caps, and aerodynamic inserts. A bespoke AMG car cover is also included with both variants.

Step inside, and each model continues down its distinctive path. The Coupé goes bold with AMG Nappa leather and yellow contrast stitching, carbon-fibre trim, and illuminated AMG door sills. In contrast, the Cabriolet takes a more restrained approach, pairing white Nappa leather with black accents. Both feature the AMG Performance High-End Seat Package and bespoke floor mats tailored to match the individual design schemes.
At this stage, Mercedes-AMG hasn’t confirmed how many units will be produced, although we have learned the both variants of the Limited Edition will be priced at £94,160 OTR – a premium of £18,500 over the regular CLE 53 Coupe, and £14,500 over the base CLE 53 Convertible. Orders are open now, with UK deliveries expected this summer.
