Aston Martin Announces new Flagship V12 Engine

Hot on the heels of Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll’s announcement that the company will continue selling internal-combustion vehicles well into the 2030s - due to customer desire for “sounds and smells” - the firm has this morning revealed a new, flagship V12 engine.

Hot on the heels of Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll’s announcement that the company will continue selling internal-combustion vehicles well into the 2030s - due to customer desire for “sounds and smells” - the firm has this morning revealed a new, flagship V12 engine.

The new engine will extend the British firms’ 25-year association with the V12. Boasting an incredible 835 PS (824 bhp) 1000 Nm of torque (738 lb-ft) the new twin-turbocharged V12 could become a major USP for the brand with rivals looking to alternative powertrains as emissions legislation tightens its noose. The result of a complete redesign, targeting optimisation and improvement, the new engine refines every stage of the internal combustion process to achieve unprecedented performance and efficiency.

Hardware highlights include a strengthened cylinder block, conrods, and redesigned cylinder heads incorporating re-profiled camshafts. New intake and exhaust ports plus repositioned spark plugs and new higher flowrate fuel injectors deliver greater power and efficiency. In addition, new higher-speed, reduced-inertia turbochargers deliver increased performance and throttle response.

Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer, Roberto Fedeli said: “The V12 engine has long been a symbol of power and prestige, but it is also a statement of engineering passion and technical prowess. With 835 PS and 1000 Nm of torque this unparalleled engine represents nothing less than the dawn of a dazzling new V12 era for Aston Martin.”

The new V12 engine will remain hand-built and is set to feature only in Aston Martin’s most exclusive models, in strictly limited numbers. It will make its first appearance in a new flagship model that debuts later in 2024 when further technical details will be shared. Given the press release guff's “All will be Vanquished”, it’s not hard to deduce where the new motor will be fitted…
