Whilst the Lamborghini Gallardo is a relatively recent model, its ingredients are firmly from the Old School - a screaming naturally aspirated V10, hydraulic steering and a gated manual transmission. And that’s Tedson’s reasoning behind the re-imagination of Lamborghini’s baby supercar.

Founder Goran Turkic explains the motivation “Our goal with the Etna was clear: make it lighter, stronger and more responsive while enhancing its analogue soul.”

The Croatian outfit has taken the Gallardo’s bones and rebuilt them into the Etna, a modernised, sharpened take on Sant’Agata’s bestseller. The biggest news is the completely new, all carbon bodywork which shaves a significant 200kg of mass, whilst also lowering the centre of gravity.

The design remains instantly recognisable as a Gallardo, but one that’s been through a cyberpunk timewarp. A reworked front end sits lower and cleaner, and the headlights are now slimline LED units that look decades younger than the Gallardo’s originals. The front bootlid also features a Diablo GT inspired aero outlet.

Along the side profile, the air intakes have ballooned in size, while new 19-inch AL13 R-Series R110 alloys fill the arches. The Etna also sits lower to the ground thanks to the adoption of bespoke ‘PROactive’ JRZ suspension derived from the Gallardo GT3 Cup and Super Trofeo race cars. Other handling improvements include a wider track to the tune of 60mm across both axles, with beefed up Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres to suit.

The rear of the Etna shows off the most dramatic changes, with a channel tunnel size twin-exit central exhaust system (crafted from titanium) and full-width diffuser. Higher up are completely new taillights and a prominent ducktail spoiler. But the most eye catching feature is the redesigned engine cover - it now sits flush with the buttresses with lateral openings to allow the reworked V10 to cool.

Ah yes, the 5.0-litre V10. Tedson claims to have pushed the power output to 600bhp courtesy of a new air intake and upgraded internals that permit the Etna to rev to 10,000rpm. That's 107bhp and 2,000rpm up on the original 2003 Gallardo.

No interior shots have been revealed - although Tedson has divulged the Etna will feature new carbon fibre bucket seats, and will be “Taken to a new level, modernising it while retaining the analog and classic feel, focusing on the quality of the materials and pure driving emotion”.

Tedson states they will only be seeking to use e-Gear donor cars for the Etna conversion, in order to preserve the number of factory manual Gallardo’s. That sounds like music to our ears. And if the Etna sounds like music to yours, Tedson is building a limited series of 77 bespoke commissions, scheduled to begin production in 2026. Each one is anticipated to cost in excess of £625,000, plus donor car.
